Welcome to Hendersonville Church!
We exist to LOVE GOD. LOVE OTHERS. MAKE DISCIPLES. We want to be the church that Henderson County would dearly miss if we ceased to exist. Our church family consists of people from many different walks of life who are in different places in their spiritual journeys. We desire to get back to doing “church” the way followers of Jesus did in Scripture. Our focus is to elevate Jesus Christ, love people, and make disciples in Henderson County and around the world. – “If any should ask us what is the first, second and third part of a Jesus follower, we must answer: action!” – Thomas Brooks.
Our Lead Pastor
Nathan and his best friend Kelly have been married for over 20 years and are natives of Henderson County. They have four awesome kiddos. Nathan and Kelly both attended Appalachian State University and majored in Accounting. Nathan worked in the corporate world for over 17 years. Then, through a series of amazing, God-sized events over a two-year period, God clearly called the Byrd family into full-time ministry in 2014. Nathan went back to graduate school and earned his master’s degree in Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. About three years ago, God placed a heavy burden on Nathan and Kelly for those who have little to no hope in Henderson County. They started praying. They prayed more. They sought counsel from many wise people. The result of those prayers and wise counsel, through the grace of God, is Hendersonville Church.
Our Executive Pastor
Ryan and his wife Summer have also been married for 20+ years and are transplants from the Indiana/Kentucky areas. The Sisney's have three children that range in age from sippy cups to high school life, so the fun never ends! God began a significant shift in their family back in 2009. They began praying some scary prayers, and God started to do some amazing (yet very uncomfortable) things in their whole family. After close to two decades in the corporate world, God made it clear it was time to follow a new path. Five moves and four states later, they know they are right where God has called them to be!
